How to display a parking permit

Ensuring Your Permit is Always Clearly Visible.

Displaying your parking permit correctly is essential for compliance and avoiding unnecessary issues. To assist with this, we’ve provided clear guidelines on how to properly display your permit, along with examples of correct and incorrect placement. By adhering to these standards, you can ensure your permit is always visible and valid.

Permits must be positioned so that all critical details are easily visible, including the site name, property number or name, expiry date, and our unique hologram. While we do not prescribe a specific method of affixing permits, it is important that the permit is securely positioned with all four corners clearly visible and facing outward. Common methods include using adhesive tape, blu tack, or securely wedging the permit into the A-pillar.

By following these straightforward instructions, you can ensure compliance and avoid any misunderstandings. Refer to the examples below for further clarity on proper and improper permit display. Let’s work together to maintain a smooth and efficient parking system.

Perfect! Clearly displayed the right way up. We can see all the details and verify that permit.
Some people like to sellotape it to the windscreen so it won't move. Some like to use Blu tac. Whatever works for you.
The best position for our permits is on the passenger side lower down, just like where we used to display tax discs.
Don't display it upsidedown. All the verifying details are on the other side. It states on the permit which way is the correct way.
Don't have it wedged down or slipped below the windscreen surround or up in sun strip. It's obvious that it is not displayed correctly.
Don't squeeze the permit in like this. It makes it hard to see and it can't easily be verified.
Don't have anything covering your permit.

The majority of our parking permits in circulation are bright yellow (with some in ice white). This color choice is intentional, as it allows us to easily identify permits on dashboards and windscreens, regardless of the time of day or lighting conditions. Given that our team operates day and night, yellow is the most effective color for visibility. Additionally, our permits are larger than those used by most other parking systems. This size ensures they are clearly visible and reduces the likelihood of a parking charge due to difficulty spotting a permit. Small, white permits can easily go unnoticed, leading to unnecessary complications.

To avoid any issues, we kindly ask that you follow the instructions provided when displaying your permit. The key is to ensure the permit is clearly visible, without obstructions, unusual placements, or significant fading. By adhering to these guidelines, you help us verify your permit quickly and avoid any misunderstandings.

The QR code printed on the reverse side of the permits is a digital barcode that links directly to our website. It functions just like the QR codes you might find in places like McDonald’s or Wetherspoon pubs. It’s simply a tool for easy access to additional information, nothing more.

With over 7,000 permits currently in circulation, it’s essential that all permit details are clear and easy to identify. Many of the sites we manage are located near each other or even adjacent, so unclear or obscured permits can lead to confusion. In some cases, motorists attempt to use permits from neighboring sites, which we actively monitor and enforce against.

By ensuring your permit is displayed correctly and remains in good condition, you help maintain the integrity of our parking management system and avoid unnecessary charges.
